Pray in faith, for Faith Empowers Our Prayer* © 1996

(Mark 11:22-24)

“Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, “Go throw yourself into the sea,” and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

Think About It

Asking in Jesus name is not a magic formula; it empowers us to pray in His name for the “greater things than these:” i.e., reaching multitudes of others through prayer in His Name, and missions throughout the world carrying out His command to teach and baptize all nations in His Name. Why? “So that the Son may bring glory to the Father.” (John 14:13)

A crippled man was healed because his friends had faith in Jesus. Peter walked on water, and sank only when he took his eyes off Jesus. Have you trusted Jesus’ promises? Are your eyes fixed on Him? (Matthew 9:1-2)

REMEMBER

When Jesus went to be with God, He left us His assurance,

That when, in faith, we call on Him, He’ll answer as He promised.

Still, we must all  remember that when Jesus intercedes,

He does it for God’s glory, not just to meet our needs.
